Welcome to It's been more than three years since the end of the original Harry/Draco Big Bang Challenge and the publication of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. About time, we thought, to celebrate our continuing obsession with Harry/Draco. Here on this website, when Harry Potter looks into the Mirror of Erised, a certain blond git is smirking behind his parents. Here, when Draco Malfoy glances into the Mirror, he sees a black-haired Golden Boy amidst his visions of glory. Here, two enemies become friends and lovers. We are proud to present to you 14 novellas by our talented writers, accompanied by over 90 artworks from some of our finest artists. The genres range from canon to fanon, from dark to fluff, from creature to mpreg, in short: all that H/D fanwork has to offer. We hope you enjoy H/D Big Bang: Erised. Yours, in H/D obsession, Huey, Mel and Vaysh This fannish project took more than a year in the making. It started with a short line in an LJ post by Vaysh where she wrote: *wants to have a fourth H/D Big Bang in 2011 badly*. Several people commented, saying they'd love to have a fourth H/D Big Bang. Looking at this post now, it is funny that four of those commenters eventually became mods of the H/D Big Bang. ![]() ![]() This H/D Big Bang would not have happened without Huey. She has been the heart of the website, the main organiser behind the scene, and through her many gorgeous works of art, a huge inspiration for her fellow artists and mods. Huey was in constant contact with the Big Bang authors and artists, she organised feedback groups and assignments, created spreadsheets and kept close tabs on the many submissions. Thank you is not enough to express our gratitude to her. Huey, we worship the ground you walk upon. Trufax! The website design and set-up were done by Huey. The banner art was created by ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you so much, Grey, Lizard and Dragon! You are our heroes! ![]() ![]() This H/D Big Bang was open to everybody who wanted to participate. The original Big Bang were by invite-only but with fandom having changed so much in the last years, we decided to make this Big Bang open to all. However, just like the predecessors, we wanted a big Big Bang, with a minimum word count of 50,000 words for each story. More than 50 authors initially signed up, and in the end, 14 authors stuck with their stories and (almost) all finished them in time for the reveal. It is amazing to us that 14 authors actually managed to meet the challenge we posed when we set up the rules. All together, almost one million words were written, betaed and proof-read for H/D Big Bang. Authors of the H/D Big Bang: Erised, you rock our fannish world! And thank you, all authors who had to drop out along the way. We sincerely hope that those stories you meant to write for the H/D Big Bang will still be written. ![]() ![]() We had an unbelievable turnout of gorgeous art. Almost one hundred pieces of art were created!!! We are still reeling from the magnificent artworks that have been flooding the mods' mailbox in the last weeks. This truly is the Big Bang of H/D Art! Artists of the H/D Big Bang: Erised, you are and remain simply the best! Three artists went far beyond the call of fannish love and duty and contributed a huge amount of outstanding pieces of art. ![]() ![]() ![]() Long after the sign-ups, a few artists had to drop out and we were looking for last-minute pinch-hitters. Seven artists came forward and set their artistic skill to creating even more artworks for the stories of the Big Bang. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We cannot thank enough the following people who helped us along the way with their generosity, their encouragement, their support, their skills and talents, their willingness to spend hours and hours for fandom, and their dedication to this Big Bang: ![]() ![]() Our volunteer proofreaders, ![]() ![]() All the betas and cheerleaders, the mods and all members of ![]() ![]() ![]() Aja, Reena, and Shaggy – for allowing us to continue the H/D Big Bang tradition you started. We hope this fourth H/D Big Bang will do your baby proud. And, finally, thank you, Harry/Draco fandom. Your support for this Big Bang has been overwhelming and simply wonderful. Now we hope that you enjoy the offerings on these beautiful web-pages as much as we do. Readers, H/D lovers – we ask you from the bottom of our hearts to review the Big Bang stories and the many, many pieces of art. A special community was created, ![]() If you have questions or comments, don't hesitate to contact us: here. You also can leave us a comment at the H/D Big Bang Community. Chì mi na sgoran fo cheò: Summary: Teddy Lupin, who has a job of academic research in hand, blags his godfather and his cousin – Uncle Harry and Uncle Draco – into taking with him, an Autumn voyage from Orkney to Inverness, and through the Caledonian Canal to Fort William and the Road to the Isles, in hopes that they’ll get sorted and realise they’re as destined a couple as their sons are. He’d not thought that it should want trows, hogboons, revenant Vikings, the great each-uisge of Loch Ness, assassins, international incidents, and the People of Peace to effect that end. Art by: Summary: Five years post-war, Harry is having dinner at the Weasleys' when a stranger apparates into the dining room. Harry, a junior auror, deals with the situation, but is left with a mystery; who is that man? Harry visits WIFGER – the Wizarding Institute for Genetic Engineering and Research, where Draco Malfoy and Angelina Johnson are working on their PhDs, hoping for some answers. After a rocky start, Draco examines the body and discovers a strange ailment which makes the man's magic grow out of control. With Draco’s help, Harry investigates the mystery. However, he has personal issues to deal with as well; troubles at work, his doubts about his upcoming wedding, and his growing attraction to Draco. Trying to deal with so much conflict leads Harry almost to disaster, and he is forced to re-evaluate who he is and what he wants out of his life, before he can solve the mystery and start afresh. Art by: Summary: The end of the war bring changes for both Harry and Draco. Harry is trying to find what he wants now that he has time to think. Draco doesn't know what to do between Narcissa's stress and Lucius' upcoming trial. The invitation to resume their academics in an eighth year opens doors for Harry and Draco. They take it, but does not expect the changes that brings them together. Art by: Long Hours of Constant Summary: The effects of climate change are happening faster than anyone thought they would, so Hermione sends Harry to Antarctica to investigate. But when Harry meets the team he'll be crossing the ice with, he thinks he's already found the source of the problem: Draco Malfoy. On the ice, you must rely on your team and Harry and Draco become friends. But with everything that's gone wrong in his life of late, can Harry trust Draco? Or even his own feelings? Art by: Summary: When Pansy comes to Draco nearly three years after the war to ask for his help with none other than an abused and fragile Harry Potter, what could he do but say yes? After all, he had been in love with Harry since they were eleven. Art by: Summary: Ron Weasley always said that Draco Malfoy was a leech, sucking people dry. Who'd have thought that he had a point? How does it affect the people surrounding him, especially Harry? Art by: Summary: Thanks to a clever bit of magic and the help of an old acquaintance, Draco is given the chance to relive his years at Hogwarts with the knowledge of what exactly is in store for the future. However, when things tumble out of Draco's grasp, he finds himself losing his memories of the life he's already led as everything takes a startling turn away from what he'd always assumed to be his destiny. Art by: Please note: This story will not be finished in the foreseeable future. Art by: Summary: Harry Potter is not happy with the life he’s landed in. He’s trained to be an Auror, was invited to be one, but now he’s considered too valuable to be allowed out in the field. He faces a life of paperwork, migraines and the petty miseries of being a desk jockey. Draco Malfoy has just returned to England from Romania, where he worked his tail off at the Dragon Preserve. Now he requires a paying position and Malfoys are still somewhat persona non grata. Fortunately he has good friends, and among them are three lively Witches: the wifty yet strangely prescient Luna Lovegood, the scheming and fun-loving Ginevra Weasley, and the brainy and well-organized Hermione Granger. The three Witches cooked up a real cauldron-boiler of an idea: forming a troupe of Players for the purpose of presenting theatricals to the Wizarding folk. For the play’s the thing, as the Bard once said, and the world is in need of some enjoyment. Art by: Summary: Harry Potter wasn't reintroduced to the wizarding world when he was eleven. When they find him, nine years later then they should have, things are much different. Art by: Summary: Harry finds himself being held captive as a prisoner of war, seven years after the war is over. Draco Malfoy is his very not-entirely-sane Keeper. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Featuring guest appearances by: Lucius, Narcissa, a cat named Church, and a very perverted house elf. Introducing, in its debut role: Stockholm Syndrome. A Humor/Horror/Romantic Comedy. Art by: Summary: Twenty years after the Battle of Hogwarts there are still Death Eaters roaming free. But when Auror Ginny Weasley captures Draco Malfoy in a fight, the wheels of war are set back in motion. Dragged into the fray once again by the call of duty, Harry, Ron and Hermione must track down a lost artefact before the Death Eaters can do the unthinkable – bring Voldemort back from the grave. Art by: Summary: Harry and Draco find a mysterious portrait in Hogwarts that tells them about different stories of people in the past. But suddenly, strange things begin to happen as each story unfolds. Art by: Summary: Draco Malfoy stands in the way of Harry and the person he loves more than anyone else in the world. Harry's not going to let that stop him. Artist's notes: I want to thank our patient mods who endured my late submission (because both my notebook and old computer abandoned me while I was drawing my assignment. *face palm*), my sister who lent me her notebook, and Mr. C who is still trying to save my files from my dead computer. Thank you so much!*big bear hugs* ♣ Paradox Artist's notes: This is my first on big-bang style fest and I'm excited to see everyone's work! :-) ♣ 'The Play's The Thing!'
Artist's notes: Made using Sai. I hope this picture satisfies! :3 ♣ Paradox Artist's notes: In the first art, once again someone is thinking of using Draco but this time the arrangement is mutual. I loved how ambivalent Draco's feeling were throughout the whole fic. Not so clear-cut love story as expected. This was one of my favourite moments. The first one I could picture immediately upon reading it. I tried to show how interested Draco was, at the same time trying not to show them. Hope I've managed to convey it. ♣ (Open Up) And Breathe Artist's notes: None. ♣ 'The Play's The Thing!' Artist's notes: The art "Mirror of Erised" was done in pencil, graphite and black colored, rollerball pen for scanning, on sketch paper. |
